Oppo R11 review

Image
Introduction: The Oppo R11 is perfectly capable of standing its own ground in the midrange and has just enough flair and character to put pressure on the upper tier. Now, it's not of the same caliber as the OnePlus 5 and it obviously isn't the touted Find 9 either, to put another rumor to rest - but it doesn't need to apologize or explain. Comparisons to the OnePlus 5 are inevitable considering the relationship between the two companies. Issues of who owns what aside, the Oppo R11 was announced ahead of and beat the OnePlus 5 to market. The Oppo R11 builds on the legacy of the R9 and R9s with a 5.5" AMOLED screen wrapped into an aluminum unibody, but it makes big leaps in the performance and camera departments. For starters, the R11 is the first phone ever to come with the Snapdragon 660, Qualcomm's latest upper midrange chipset. Besides the speed boost, the S660 is said to seriously enhance the low-light and portrait imaging skills. And photogra...

Oppo F1s review

Image
Oppo has always had its own way of standing out among the growing crowds of Chinese phone manufacturers and judging by sales reports and fan approval, the OEM seems to be doing at least something right. The F-series of affordable, camera-centric devices has played a vital part in this success formula since the beginning of 2016. The Oppo F1, the original "selfie-expert", managed to appeal to a surprisingly broad user base. Its obvious selling-point aside, the F1 proved to be a quite decent all-round mid-ranger with fast performance, great build quality, excellent display and nicely sounding speaker. But it was the F1 Plus, the follow-up that came a couple of months later, that really got the series popular. It ushered in a design change and addressed many of the weak points of its predecessor, with additions like a bigger, 1080p AMOLED panel, MediaTek Helio P10 SoC, 4GB of RAM and an even better 13MP selfie shooter. Naturally, the price point was changed as well, a...

As for price, the new, rose gold variant carries a tag of $1,499.99, while the silver aluminum model will start at $799. The refreshed XPS 13 ships.

Samsung GalaxyTab S3 review

Image
Samsung was the one of the first companies to release an Android tablet, back when the iPad was brand new and exciting. The Korean giant has tried selling a huge variety of models over the years, hitting multiple target audiences, sizes and price points. While excitement about the tablet category as a whole has died down, Samsung continues to push its high-end Galaxy Tab S which competes directly with Apple’s iPad and iPad Pro. The new Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 is slim and fashionable, with high-end specs and a bundled stylus. It can also be paired with a keyboard case if what you want is productivity on the go. However, it costs as much as many mainstream laptops, so there are a lot of pros and cons to weigh when deciding whether this is the right device for you. Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 look and feel While not quite on the same level as Galaxy S smartphones usually are, the Galaxy Tab S3 is certainly premium. Its most distinct design fe...

Samsung Gear S3

Image
Smartwatches are experiments. For a taste of the future, you've got to live with compromise on your wrist. But for a lot of people, connected watches are best kept simple. Battery life wins out over tons of features, and ease of use over feature bloat. After all, that's what phones are for. Watches are where we check things quickly. The problem is that the Gear S3 still feels like an experiment, when, in its second iteration (the S2 was the first major redesign), it should really start feeling like a more mature, polished product. If you're looking to see where watches will go next, Samsung's exploring the ideas now. Stand-alone cellular LTE connection without a phone? Check. Spotify on-wrist? Check. Use-anywhere wrist payments that are even more versatile than Apple Pay? Yes. The Gear S3 is an insanely feature-rich smartwatch with a big, bold design. But unlike the latest  Apple Watch  and Android's upcoming 2.0 software update, Samsung'...

Samsung UN65MU9000 Flat 65-Inch 4K Ultra HD 9

Image
Samsung’s newest MU9000 earns our top spot for the best overall TV due to its stellar picture quality, impressive motion handling and sleek design. Its high SDR peak brightness overcomes any glare, but this 65-incher really shines in dark rooms, where it produces very deep blacks courtesy of its superior native contrast ratio of 6000:1 and excellent black uniformity. Its wide color gamut means it produces vibrant colors, especially saturated reds and blues. And with a motion rate of 240, the MU9000 brings sports and action scenes to life. When it comes to design, this TV is top of its class, with thin, .39-inch borders and a textured back. Viewed from the side, maximum thickness doesn’t exceed 1.89 inches, which makes it easy to mount to a wall. The side of the TV has a USB and an ethernet port, but all four of the HDMI ports are located on its external OneConnect box. Some reviewers on Amazon complain about needing a secondary box, but others are pleased that it makes access...

MacBook pro 2017

Image
ll start off with the good news. If you splurged on one of Apple's very expensive high-end 15-inch MacBook Pro laptops when its big redesign was launched in the fall of 2016, you're not going to feel especially put out by this modest mid-2017 update. The aluminum outer body remains the same as does the port selection, the excellent Retina-resolution display, the new keyboard, bigger touchpad and even the second-screen Touch Bar. The 15-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar for 2017 keeps the same design as last year. What is new is a move to current 7th-generation Intel Core i-series CPUs, sometimes referred to by the codename "Kaby Lake." The   MacBook Pro models that we reviewed   late last year had older 6th-gen Intel chips (although they were certainly fast enough for almost any tasks as-is). Of course, Intel is already starting to   talk about 8th-gen Core chips   now, so it's best not to obsess too much on the exact CPU model in an...

iPad Pro review

This is our review of the iPad Pro 12.9in (2015). A newer version has since been announced: see our iPad Pro 12.9in (2017) review for more details. And if you'd prefer a smaller screen, read our iPad Pro 10.5in (2017) review. Welcome to our iPad Pro review, in which we review, evaluate, test and rate Apple's new big-screen iPad Pro and its new features, design, tech specs and UK pricing. As you will see, the iPad Pro is an attractive, monstrously powerful big-screen tablet that impressed us throughout testing; but while it's perfect for artists, illustrators and other creatives, there remain questions as to its appeal to a mainstream audience. Our iPad Pro review is based on rigorous speed, graphics and battery testing and many hours of hands-on time and day-to-day use by our team of experts (and incorporates the thoughts of a digital illustrator, Pete Fowler, who reviewed the device's creative capabilities for our colleagues on...

Samsung Chromebook Pro review

Read more at    :     Google pixel C I have been walking around the halls of CES 2017 for a few days now, and there’s pretty much a new product in every category. TVs, phones, fridges, washing machines, cameras, watches and so on; but there are barely any tablets. I haven’t spotted a decent Android tablet anywhere. Now is the time to admit that Android tablets in their current form are dead. And that’s not a bad thing, because they’re mostly pretty underwhelming.  Google Pixel C  and a couple of Amazon Fire tabs aside, there’s simply no reason to upgrade if you already own one. His performances  : CPU:  0.99Ghz Intel Core m3-6Y30 (dual core, 4MB cache, up to 2.2GHz) Graphics:  Intel HD Graphics 515 RAM:  4GB LPDDR3 Screen:  12.3-inch, QHD (2,400 x 1,600) LED display Storage:  32GB eMMC Ports:  2 x USB-C Gen1, microSD card slot, headset jack Connectivity: ...

Google Pixel C review

Image
Google has historically been known for using other manufacturers for their Nexus tablets and phones. That all changes with the Pixel line-up, with the Pixel C designed and entirely built in-house. It borrows its name from the company’s premium Chromebook Pixel, an elegant 12.9in laptop. It's clear that Google hasn’t compromised on quality or performance with the Pixel C, but is Android really the best operating system to use for power-users? Design and keyboard With an all-metal frame, unusual 1:√2 aspect ratio (roughly the same as an A4 piece of paper) and no eye-grabbing logos, the Pixel C is sleek yet understated. The slim row of LEDs on the rear is the only thing that could be considered branding, lighting up in Google’s colours when the screen is active. They also indicate battery life when you give them a double-tap. At 7mm thick and weighing 520g, it’s not the slimmest or lightest device around, but the squared edges leave plenty of room for the beautifully ...
